Te Aroha means “Love”. For centuries the waters that flow forth from the breast of Mount Te Aroha have nurtured our people.

Nestled amongst the magnificent native flora on the lower slopes of mystical Mount Te Aroha is the historic, naturally flowing Soda Spa spring. For more than a century its beneficial qualities were renown in the district and around the world. People travelled by coach and rail “to partake of the remedial waters, both by bathing and by bottle”.

The township of Te Aroha became a thriving spa town and a welcome rest stop, sometimes for many days, between the region’s main destinations. It’s all much the same today but in a more comfortable and contemporary way.

In 2006 our state of the art, Circa 1900 replica Bath House was completed. Once inside traditional meets contemporary to make your experience truly unique. Leather couches invite you to relax in a comfortable waiting area while your private pool is made ready. Each pool’s soda spa water is fresh and just for you.

Then change and shower in the privacy of your own modern ensuite before easing yourself into a form of relaxation and rejuvenation unlike anything else you will find.

Set amongst mature oaks overlooking the specially planted historic Edwardian Domain the traditional lines of the new Bath House immediately revive the romance of the past.
